General (Ret.) Stanley McChrystal

A retired four-star general, Stan McChrystal is the former commander of US and International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) Afghanistan and the former commander of the nation’s premier military counter-terrorism force, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).

Since retiring from the military, Stan has served on several corporate boards of directors and is a senior fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.

His first book My Share of the Task: A Memoir was published in 2013.  He has subsequently authored and co-authored influential books on organizational effectiveness and leadership, including Team of Teams: New Rules of Engagement for a Complex World, in 2015, and 2018’s Leaders: Myth and Reality

Stan founded the McChrystal Group in January 2011 to help businesses challenge the hierarchical, “command and control” approach to organizational management, an idea now of urgent importance to all firms and sales organizations, as they adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.
